History of the Bahrain Groups

Alcoholics Anonymous (Bahrain) started in August of 1964 in an apartment of a wellwisher
for AA called Mr. John Peter. They used to meet every 2 weeks. The number of attendance
was 8 recovering alcoholics.

In 1970 they started a meeting in Arabic in Ibn Sina Hospital with 4 Bahraini members. They
met once a week for 3 months and then the group collapsed.

The AA meeting which is in the American Mission Hospital continued and progressed to have
on meeting a week.
